Well, it's amazing how changing one thing makes such a difference.
Hubby drag races, but we haven't been out to the track in over 12 months - changes out there and time have been two preventers for us going out there - oh and the fact that we nearly blew up the engine the last time we were out there might also have been a small factor.
About 3 weeks ago some of our friends decided that they were going to the next meet - their car was back together and they wanted to race.... Hubby says that it would be nice to go out.... I say lets go for it!
So in the space of three weeks we got the car race ready - brand new slicks, new filled NOS bottle - all ready to go! Yahoo! It had been pretty much ready anyway from 12 months ago.
Out there the day was good - the fastest time we ran was a 12.19 - that was a Personal Best (in this car) for Hubby. But after all the running around we'd done, the NOS wasn't working! Such a pain. We tried so many different things out there - change the jets over, turn around the NOS filter.... then started to wonder if something was blocked or there was a leak somewhere? Nothing could fix it! Stupid car! So the 12.19 was a run without the NOS (pretty darn good for a street legal Torana)
Back at home we have more time to look at it. The fuel pump was pumping at 40lbs - it was supposed to be pumping at about 12-15lbs..... hmmm could THAT be the problem??? So a new fuel pump later, tested the NOS out this morning - and it works! Woohoo!!!
Anyway I am supposed to be editing photos from the last round of the drags, to get them up on Facebook - but that is slow going....... such a painful process!
I will be back soon!!!
